What is it that you desire to do for God; what stirs your heart when you think of serving Him? Are you doing it? Or are you looking at all the different things that add up to keep you from it? Answer honestly, there’s no judgment intended by these questions. I simply wish to stir your heart for it again.
I have a desire of my own, but have let it be shunted off because of fear. It sat there becoming a victim of overgrowth, while at the same time I wilted.
When God calls us to do something, it’s usually big, and frightens us: it’s God’s stuff and we don’t want to make mistakes; it calls us out of our comfort zone; how and where do we begin such an important task; feeling unworthy of the calling and not up to the task – and other personal things that add on.
I want to encourage you to go back to where you left your dreams for serving God, tell Him you want them back and active, then embrace them. Never let them go, because you were never meant to go it alone in this work – God called you to it, He will lead you in it, just take one step at a time. One thing I have to remind myself of frequently: waiting on God is not wasted time; but letting fear steal your place in God’s plan is.
Perhaps the following will help: Isaiah 41:9,10,13 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, and called from its remotest parts and said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and not rejected you. ‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. For I am YaHWeH your God, who upholds your right hand, who says to you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.”
Go, live your purpose again. Go on… God’s waiting for you
