Isaiah 42:1 NASBS
“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold;…”
This is the Father speaking about His Son, Jesus, before he existed
John 5:19,30 NASBS
Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner.
“I can do nothing on My own initiative. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
John 8:28 NASBS
So Jesus said, “When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He, and I do nothing on My own initiative, but I speak these things as the Father taught Me.
1) If Jesus is God, why does he need to be upheld?
2) If Jesus is God, why is he unable to do anything of himself?
3) If Jesus is God, then why does he subordinate himself to the Father?
The very simple answer to all of these is: Jesus is NOT God
Jesus is the only human son that God brought into this world through the process of procreation, which the Scriptures refer to as “begotten”. Because Jesus is “begotten” he can only be human, for that is what “begotten” means.
